July is a special month for the Souljers, not just because the weather is usually beautiful and it is one of the busiest times of year in the wedding industry’s calendar but, also, because half of the Souljers’ members celebrate their birthdays! So please indulge us while we reminisce over our favourite time of year :)

Leicestershire Wedding Venues
I have to really like a bride to allow her to book Adam to perform on his own birthday... Rebecca Kinnersley was one such bride!
At the time of booking, Rebecca's fiance Sean was posted in Afghanistan and she was handling most of the wedding planning alone. She knew what she wanted and what she liked but was always so lovely and endearing... My favourite qualities in a bride!
The Big Day at Sketchley Grange
On their big day itself, they were both really easy going and Rebecca looked truly radiant. Every wedding is unique and, for me, the three things that stood out most with this wedding was the beautiful pink flowers on the tables (hopefully a picture will follow), the quirky barbecue (rather than a buffet) it looked scrummy ;) (the head chef at Sketchley Grange really knows what he's doing!) and Rebecca's stunning dress, of course!
The First Dance... Chasing Cars
When it came to their wedding entertainment, they had opted for Chasing Cars as their first dance followed by a very unusual choice: Kiss with a Fist by Florence and the Machine! Very different!!
Adam's live performances kicked off with a little bit of Michael Buble and swing but the second set was slightly adapted to include a few of the numbers that we've been performing in our brand new Soul show: Forget You (Cee Lo Green) and Hey Ya (Outkast)... Both were greatly received as always with lots of Polaroid picture shaking done by all ;)
The evening was over in a flash with both the bride and groom dancing for the entire night. The dance floor was overflowing all night with the wedding party boogie-ing to everything from The Specials to Rihanna, Ultra-Nate to Dirty Dancing... We really love couples with eclectic tastes and crowds that love 90's dance! (Adam used to love all that stuff you see!)
Adam thoroughly enjoyed his birthday too as they were such a wonderful audience and it really felt that we were surrounded by family and friends anyway... They even sang happy birthday to him at the end of the night! Ah bless!
Here's to Rebecca & Sean, we wish you all the happiness in the world, thank you for letting us be such a big part of your day :) x x x
A lovely couple, lovely venue, lovely day!
On 27th August 2010 we performed at the lovely Shearsby Bath in South Leicestershire for the delightful Carrie and Martin Garness... and what a lovely day we all had too.
Carrie and Martin first saw Adam Thomas perform live at the Hilton, Leicester Wedding Fair and, seemingly, that was enough for them to know that they wanted Adam to be a part of their big day!
The Day Itself
After arriving at the venue we realised that Carrie and Martin had thought through every single meticulous detail and everything looked great: from the flowers to the cake, the dress to the venue itself.
Shearsby Bath is a really lovely wedding venue with great food and truly attentive, dedicated staff. However, it is their wonderful Fountain Marquee that really sets this place off, catering for events of 100 to 250 people most weekends of the year!
"You're A Falling Star..."
Adam was asked by Carrie and Martin if he could sing Michael Buble's 'Everything' for their First Dance and Adam was only too happy to accept. This song has undoubtedly been the most requested first dance of the past two years and rightly so in our opinion! It has a lovely feel with sweet lyrics and is at a great pace - not too slow for you awkward grooms!!
"Adam Thomas to the stage..."
The new Mr and Mrs Garness booked Adam to perform his Solo Show for their Wedding Entertainment and they opted to include our Wedding Disco too.
Adam performed all of his usual crowd pleasing favourites including 'Haven't Met You Yet,' 'That's Amore,' 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You,' 'New York, New York' and Michael Buble's brand new single 'Hollywood.' Swing and Big Band first half over - phew!
Act Two got the party into full swing as Adam kept them all going with a blend of Soul, Indie and Pop tracks such as 'Soul Man,' 'All Night Long,' 'Let Me Entertain You' and 'Valerie.' As we've said before, Adam's renditions of Paolo Nutini's 'Pencil Full Of Lead' and '10/10' have really proven to be massive hits with all of his audiences this summer: they fill the dance floor every time!
They Say...
Our beautifully heated / air-cooled, permanent Fountain Marquee has its own private bar, dance floor, cloakrooms and kitchens. The Fountain Marquee is fully self-contained and offers the exclusivity of a venue that Brides’ dream of. The simplicity of the décor allows each Bride to put her own personal touches to the room and create a truly unique feel every time.
The Fountain Marquee offers the flexibility to accommodate Wedding Breakfast's of all sizes (up to 250 guests), and Evening Receptions for up to 350 guests.
