Mr and Mrs Chawner, Bradgate Suite at Sketchley Grange

Jodie and Matthew had booked Adam to perform at their wedding very early on in their planning and I had met and chatted to them at several of the

Sketchley Grange wedding fayres

after that too. Their wedding had always seemed so far into the future that, when their Big Day finally arrived, I couldn't believe that it had finally come around!

Lots of couples take at least a year (sometimes two) to plan their wedding and, when we arrived to set up for their

evening entertainment

, we suddenly realised just how much planning this lovely couple had needed to put in!

The Bradgate Suite

at

Sketchley Grange

had been fully decked out in white and hot pink with huge ostrich feather table centres, table runners, balloons, chair covers, fairy lighting... The works! To complete the 'fairytale princess' look, their cake was a sparkly Princess castle!

Their evening guests were treated to casino tables to kick the evening off, a delicious buffet, a chocolate fountain and a fully stocked candy table too! In between munching on all of this and having a flutter on the casino, guests were invited to leave video messages as well as sign the interactive guestbook... Never a dull moment!

'Fun-filled' would be the word that best describes the finishing touches that this lovely couple sprinkled over their big day... They then spoilt their guests with two live sets by

Adam Thomas

:)

A Very Different First Dance...

Their chosen first dance song was

Earth Angel (The Penguins)

: this was the first time that we'd ever had this song requested so it was a really nice change to see this used for a first dance (the

lyrics

are surprisingly apt and the tempo is perfect) :)

Following on from this, their wedding entertainment really kicked off with Adam's live performances: a little bit of

Michael Buble's Everything

to get everyone singing and swaying along!

Everything by Adam Thomas

This was then followed by a full-on

Pop, Soul and Indie

second set for dancing: Soul Man to

Valerie

, Paolo Nutini to Mr Brightside! Act two also had one or two numbers from Adam's

new soul show

thrown in for good measure (Forget You (Cee Lo Green) still proving to be the evening's favourite!)

The atmosphere was electric and the bride and groom had a good boogie too. The dance floor was full all night long with the wedding party jigging away to everything from Take That to The Human League, Hot, Hot, Hot to Dirty Dancing! They even requested a springling of reggae, which is always something we like to accomodate - we love a bit of Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff and Musical Youth!

(One of my personal favourites, however, have you ever seen dancing like this before!!)

A gorgeous day weather-wise was rounded off with a fantastic evening entertainment-wise. Here's to Jodie and Matthew: we'll miss you at the wedding fayres guys! Can't wait to see the photos though... Congratulations! :) x x x -- This is just for Jodie! :) ...

Norwood Park, Southwell for Danielle and Stephen

A Big Band for A Big Day!

On 27th August 2010 we performed at the truly stunning and incredibly unique Norwood Park Hotel in Southwell, Nottingham for Danielle and Stephen Riggott... and what a lovely day we all had too.

Danielle and Stephen first heard about Adam after a recommendation from the lovely Paul at Spirits High Disco's (if you need a professional, reliable disco for your event then Paul is the man! He also happens to be thoroughly nice guy too!) and, after browsing the Adam Thomas website, that was enough for them to know that they wanted Adam and his 8 piece Swing & Soul Band to be a part of their big day!

The Day Itself

After arriving at the venue we realised that Danielle and Stephen had thought through every single meticulous detail and everything looked stunning: from the flowers to the cake, the dress to the venue itself.

Norwood Park is one of the best wedding venues in the Midlands and would make any wedding or special event stand out from the crowd simply because of it's stunning location, the truly unique courtyard and contemporary style mixed with traditional architecture. (If you haven't guessed already, we likey this venue!!)

The food is stupendous, the staff are friendly yet super efficient and professional and the all-round feel of the place is what a wedding venue should be... magical!

Norwood Park is a part of Maverick Venues and if you are still undecided as to who you would like to host your wedding or special occasion, then I urge you to take a good look around their stunning collection of venues as they may just have the venue of your dreams! Norwood Park and Sutton Bonnington are our personal favourites! :)

"Here We Are, On Earth Together, It's You And I..."

Stevie Wonder

Adam was asked by Danielle and Stephen if he could sing Stevie Wonder's 'You And I' for their First Dance and Adam was only too happy to accept. This particular track has truly wonderful lyrics and is the perfect first dance song for those couples still undecided and in need of something that really says something special.

"Adam Thomas and his Swing & Soul Big Band to the stage..."

The new Mr and Mrs Riggott booked Adam to perform with his 8 piece Swing & Soul Big Band for their Wedding Entertainment and they opted to include our Wedding Disco too.

Adam performed all of his usual crowd pleasing favourites including 'Sway,' 'That's Amore,' 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You,' 'Save The Last Dance' and Michael Buble's brand new single 'Hollywood.' Swing and Big Band first half over - phew!

Act Two got the party into full swing as Adam kept them all going with a blend of Soul, Indie and Pop tracks such as 'Soul Man,' 'All Night Long,' 'My Girl,' 'Brown Eyed Girl' and 'Valerie.' As we've said before, Adam's renditions of Paolo Nutini's 'Pencil Full Of Lead' has really proven to be a massive hit with all of his audiences this summer: it fills the dance floor every time!

They Say...

Norwood Park with its original furnishings and imposing, sweeping staircase makes a superb backdrop for your special day. The Palladian style Gallery and partially roofed Courtyard can accommodate up to 180 guests for a wedding breakfast, and up to 250 guests for an evening reception. Our helpful wedding staff can provide as much or as little support as you require when planning your day.

// NEW SONGS // Crazy Love, 10/10 and She's Always A Woman

Adam Thomas, the UK's Number One Wedding Singer, has just added four brand new songs into the Solo Set list after popular demand.

Always very keen to keep up to date and maintain the consistency of the show as a whole, Adam felt that these Pop and Swing numbers complimented his Wedding Show perfectly.

 • 10/10 - Paolo Nutini
 • Pencil Full Of Lead - Paolo Nutini
 • Crazy Love - Michael Buble
and
 • She's Always A Woman - Billy Joel/Fyfe Dangerfield, is to be added soon. It has been featured on this John Lewis ad and isn't it lovely? :)

Only The Best Will Do

A recent survey found that 72% of guests remember wedding entertainment most after attending someone's big day... that's a huge amount of people to disappoint if you opt for something dull... but potentially a great chance to impress both your day and evening guests with something fantastic!

The UK's Best Wedding Singer

As the UK's best wedding singer, you really can trust Adam Thomas to wow your guests and exceed all expectations: The first live entertainment set consists of Michael Buble - style Swing and Rat Pack songs: Save the Last Dance, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Haven't Met you Yet, Kick in the Head… these are real floorfillers and they give your older guests a chance to show-off their ballroom skills early on in the evening too!

Act Two is the party half where the dance floor will be full from start to finish with The Blues Brothers, The Killers and Paolo Nutini bringing the night to life.
